Miss Gay Caribbean Bahamas, Alicia Dupree Wins Best Face Award in 2011 Pageant

Alicia Dupree carried the Bahamian Flag at the 2011 Gay Caribbean USA Pageant that took place in Brooklyn, New York. The judges scored her make-up skills the highest out of all the women competing and she won the award for best face; but it was not enough to win her the pageant crown against Miss Barbados.

Miss Bahamas was an definite crowd favorite. For the talent portion of the competition she preformed to Simply Red's classic song 'If you don't know me by now'. Her performance was exuberant and engaging as she danced around on stage in 6 inch high heels, only removing them to jump off stage and finished the performance amongst the judges and the crowd.   

When her overall ranking was announced as 4th place the crowd erupted in boo's and started chanting NO NO NO! The placement was a true shock to everyone including the Miss Bahamas pageant support team.

Ms. Dupree said she entered the pageant as a Bahamian representative to promote and develop good quality entertainment and lifestyles within the Caribbean Community in hopes to raise awareness for gay issues and help bridge the gap between gay and Caribbean communities. 

Ms. Dupree who is a Pre-Op Transsexual is the youngest of 16 children. She says that she always felt very different from her siblings and found comfort is cross dressing. She is currently working as a Fashion Consultant, Make up Artist and Entertainer with aspirations to one day become a Victoria Secret model.
